I got this light about 2 months ago and was very careful with it. On a traffic stop last night, I dropped the light for the first time. It fell on the pavement as I was getting out of the car. The fall was from less than 2 feet. When I picked up the light it was dead.I contacted Barska for help and about the warranty...since the light is advertised as being "Designed for military and law enforcement this flashlight is designed to be shockproof and able to with stand use as a tactical defense too" I figured the warranty would cover damage that was intentional. I was told by Barska that the "warranty" doesn't cover damage caused by the consumer and then I was told my option was to buy a new light. This light is garbage, it's as "shock proof" as a beer bottle. I wouldn't recommend this light to anyone. 110 of 110 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Barska 1200 Lumen High Power Tactical Flashlight (Sports) I bought my husband a Barska FLX 1200 flashlight for Christmas. He has used it very little and it has stopped working several times. It now doesnt work at all. The batteries are fully charged. The literature that comes with this flashlight says that it can overheat with extended use. My husband would use it less than 15 minutes and it would simply quit working. Once it stranded him in the dark when he was in the woods hunting. To get warranty on this product, the company wants you to send them $25.00 for S&H and conducting an inspection. Not a very good warranty for a product that costs more than a hundred bucks. I will probably chuck this light in the recycling bin in lieu of shelling out $25.00 bucks on top of the $100 plus I already have invested. 43 of 44 people found the following review helpful By Reviewy McReview (Cali) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Barska 1200 Lumen High Power Tactical Flashlight (Sports) Just to get things straight this is a bright light that would be great for camping or other outdoor activities. But they call this light tactical which I do not think it is. For anyone in Law Enforcement I would recommend the Pelican 7060 Rechargeable LED light it has a lot of nice features and in my option is a more tactical. Here is why I think the Pelican is better for Law Enforcement. The Barska Light is nice but it only has one button, compared to 2 on the pelican, on the rear of the flashlight light that only clicks on and off, you cannot just hold and release which I personal like for clearing houses. It also does not give you a warning when the battery is low the light just turns off, which is very dangerous. The Barska does have a strobe feature that the pelican does not but the light also has an SOS flash pattern. There is no special way to turn them on or off you just double click and it cycles through the patterns. Can be annoying when you are being... Read more |
