I love hammocks but we simply didn't have the necessary tree arrangement to have a traditional one. I started researching stand alone hammocks and was dismayed when I realized I was going to be spending easily $200-300 for just the stand! As beautiful as they were, I was looking to spend much less. I just wanted to be able to lay out in our backyard with a good book on a nice day. These portable folding hammocks were my next option, and this is by far the best one I've found for the price.Other similar products are more like camping cots. This one actually swings like a proper hammock. I ordered two of these directly from SportsmanGuide and had no problems. It was on backorder but came in much sooner than anticipated! Shipping was very reasonable considering the odd shape and weight. It was very easy to set up, and feels sturdy. It doesn't require any brute force, back breaking, or sweat to set up/take apart. Anyone (not just strong men!) can easily break it down and have... Read more 53 of 54 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Portable Folding Hammock (Misc.) As everyone else pointed out, the frame is very well built, and the bag it comes in is a bit flimsy. My one complaint, was that it has 225 pound weight limit- not 250 as the product description points out. It's right on the tag on the hammock. The frame may hold 250 pounds, but the hammock does not. I'm about 230, and have yet to break it, but just throwing that information out there for any heavier folks. Also note that the product comes with no literature other then what is written on the hammock tag. It's pretty idiot proof to put together though. One other note, it's not that great for taller guys either. I'm 5'11, and my feet almost dangle off a bit. But for the price, you can't go wrong. 25 of 25 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Portable Folding Hammock (Misc.) Don't let the low price fool you. This does not feel like a cheap, about-to-fall-apart hammock! In fact, it's kinda heavy duty. I just got it today, set it up, and took a nap in it. I love the mesh center- lets air flow around you very nicely. Everything about it seems great. One person can set it up, take it down, and re-bag it with ease. I'm gonna love using it for days in the mountains, camping trips, etc. I'd have given it 5 stars, but I've had it less than 24 hours, so I wanted to be a little conservative. I may drop back in after a couple of months of using it and update this. |

About Everlast
Although the name Everlast is synonymous with boxing, the company actually started out as a swimwear manufacturer in the Bronx in 1910. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, 17-year-old Jacob Golomb grew dissatisfied with the flimsy swimsuits of the time, which barely lasted a season. In response, he began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He proudly gave them the name "Everlast," and although the swimsuits did not last throughout history, the name did. In subsequent years, Golomb transformed his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey asked Golomb to construct protective headgear that would last more that 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. In 1919, Dempsey won the world heavyweight championship wearing boxing gloves made for him by Golomb, and shortly afterward, Everlast became the boxing equipment headquarters throughout the world. Dedicated to leveraging the unique qualities represented by the Everlast brand--strength, dedication, individuality, and authenticity--the Everlast brand is now present in more than 101 countries and has 88 licenses worldwide.

If you are an average sized male you will be hard pressed to find a sparring partner if you only have 10oz gloves: nobody in their right minds would agree to spar with you because with such small gloves the risk of injuring the receiver of the blows goes way up. Hence 16oz is the standard size for sparring gloves. Women can use 14oz and children 14oz and 12oz depending on how big they are. The point with heavier/bigger gloves is to protect your training partner.Anyway, on with the review: these are good, all-around sparring gloves. Their over-all quality is quite good and even the velcros are done well so you could use these for thai boxing as well without scratching your partner's neck and shoulders when clinching. However, I found that when you put more power... Everlast advertises this glove as its "High Performance Hook-and-Loop Training Glove" with "dense two-layer sandwich foam for better shock absorbency." This is the Everlast glove that is stocked in department/sporting goods stores throughout the Chicagoland area and typically costs $29.99.This review is based on the 14 oz. version of this glove. My guess is that this review applies to the 2214 glove in all of its weight variations (12 oz - 16 oz). The exterior of the glove is vinyl. The vinyl exterior reduces the cost of the glove but decreases its longevity compared to leather gloves. The fit is snug to a bit cramped. The hook-and-loop fastener makes it easy to secure and undo. I prefer this type of hook-and-loop closure to the type found on certain training gloves offered by Title and Ringside which have an additional... This review is from: Everlast Pro Style Training Gloves (Sports) Very nice protection for heavy bags training. Nice grip also. There is one thing I have to say though - these gloves tend to run small, I mean, my hands are medium amongst Americans and I had to squeeze them into these gloves every time. I don't know what would happen to those who have bigger hands. |
U.V. and Rash Protection Shirt
| 26 of 26 people found the following review helpful By This review is from: O'Neill Wetsuits Basic Skins Long Sleeve Crew (Sports) This is a rashguard, and it fits like a rashguard is supposed to. If they sized them like shirts, no surfer would wear one because it would be horrible when used for its original purpose. The reason so many people are having size problems is that rashguards were originally made to wear under a wetsuit. They were to prevent rubbing and chafing, which can be a problem with long days of surfing, and they also help improve the warmth to some extent. They need to be very tight, as no one wants to be paddling out and have a loose shirt moving around and creeping up to your armpits, under your wetsuit. The sizings are correct if you use them under a wetsuit. I wear a medium shirt and can wear a medium rashguard just fine, but if you're buying this for a sunshirt or a beach shirt, even if you're playing around in the water, do what everyone suggests and buy one that's a lot larger. If you want it for surfing (even if you're in tropical water and are just using it as a sun... It is made from comfortable material and fits nice. The reviews are true that you have to buy a larger size. To help you decide what size I am 5'11" 178lbs,I have a 32" waist and 42" chest. I decided to go with an XXL and it fits perfect. It is a comfortable snug in the chest/arms and loose but snug fit in the waist. Length is fine. I have not worn it yet in the water but other reviews say it loosens up more when wet. I gave this shirt 5 stars because I think the bad reviews are decreasing it's overall rating. That being said I still believe this shirt to be a 4 or 5 star rating just make sure you get the right size. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: O'Neill Wetsuits Basic Skins Long Sleeve Crew (Sports) I bought the Oneil Wetsuit Basic Skin Long Sleeve Crew Black, Large for UV protection in the water. I love it. It keeps off the sun without making me hot. Research shows that Black and darker colors provide added UV protection in addition to the UV protection of the material. I bicycled to the pool in it then went swimming in it...excellent performance. I purchased a Large based on the size chart... next time I would go 1 size up. |
