"Lizzy" (Reno, NV) - See all my reviews This review is from: Barska 210 Lumen LED Flashlight (Sports) I purchased the Barska 210 flashlight with 4 CR123 batteries for well over $100.00 at Walmart last September, and used it once for about 15 minutes one late December afternoon to check my tire chains.Compared to my trusty 3 D-cell Maglite, it is lightweight and of poor construction, and when I needed it three weeks ago, it failed to provide any light at all. So I had to grab my reliable Maglight and use that. I've sent three e-mails to Barska's customer service but have yet to receive an reply. I tried calling twice using two different telephones, but never could hear what the service representative was saying on the other end of the phone. I can not recommend the Barska flashlight, based upon my experience with the flashlight and the extremely poor customer service. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Confederate (Bethesda, MD) - See all my reviews This review is from: Barska 210 Lumen LED Flashlight (Sports) There are a number of factors that make flashlights worth a high amount of money: 1) durability, the ability of a light to take a fall on pavement or for the LED to activate each time the power is turned on for years to come; 2) brightness, which is obvious; 3) battery, preferably a lithium, that has a 10 year +++ shelf life; 4) light economy, which gives your battery the best bang for the buck; 5) weather proof, which includes being able to dive to 30+ feet in salt water; and 6) settings, the ability to use very, very low outputs for extremely long periods of time. Let's face it, if you're in a squad car looking at a map or piece of paper, you're not going to need 200 lumens. I use my low settings to read while my wife is asleep. Some lights, like the astounding Olight M20S R5 Cree XP-G R5 LED Warrior Special Operations 320... I know it helps to fill his coffers and THAT's a worthy cause. But, discretion please Glenn! Glenn's interests coincide with his readers' interests: Guns 'n stuff for instance. So when the Deal of the Day is an expensive tactical flashlight like the three listed today (or any others) from Barska it almost feels like an endorsement. They are crap AT ANY PRICE and their regular price is OBSCENE. Oh they feel like the match of any high end Pelican, Surefire or Streamlight tactical light. Sturdy fitted machined aluminum. Super bright focused light - when it works. The electronic switch chip and the plastic battery pack - depending on the model - is where these turdz fail. I've owned one Barska tactical flashlight and only because it was given to me at an ASIS Expo. I don't need to have owned them all to know the brand exceedingly well. I'm a retired Infantry Marine who is still... Read more |
