This review is from: Camelbak 100 oz Antidote Replacement Reservoir (Sports) It deserves 0 stars because it doesn't matter what great improvements Camelbak made to this hydration reservoir if it cannot perform it's main function.Improvements: 1. Quick disconnect of the tube from the reservoir -- easier to clean and dry. 2. Flattened shape of the reservoir - easier to pack and transport in the backpack. 3. Softer more pliable tube -- I am glad they went back to it from the rigid tube they used last year. Fatal Flaw: It leaks when filled to it's advertised capacity of 100oz/3L -- it leaks from the newly designed (badly so) twist-lock type cap. Originally all Camelbaks had a vintage (and very good) screw-type cap which I have never experienced leaks with but their new twist-lock cap just doesn't put enough counter pressure on the cap to resist the pressure of water when reservoir is filled to it's advertised capacity causing a serious leak. This review is from: Camelbak 100 oz Antidote Replacement Reservoir (Sports) Doing 3 hour bike rides & all day snowboarding with this. Camelbak nailed it with this design. Every feature they highlight is dead perfect and works as intended. I have only one long term concern: Will the clip-in part of the tube (where it connect to the bladder) eventually break?Only other problem is figuring out how to disconnect the mouthpiece from the tube for drying/cleaning. Very tight fit, I'm not sure it wants to come apart there. And based on experience, once I take it apart there, the tube will not be as tight and eventually start leaking. So I'll just dry it out without disconnecting that part. Seems to dry with just having the opening at the other end, but I am a little concerned about something growing in the mouthpiece area... 13 of 15 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Camelbak 100 oz Antidote Replacement Reservoir (Sports) I just returned the second of these to Amazon. As a previous reviewer noted, when filled to capacity, any pressure (from a tightly loaded pack, for example) on the bladder causes it to leak from the re-designed fill valve. This is a fatal flaw. I thought the first one I received was a fluke, but it happened with the replacement as well. Camelbak is in serious danger of losing it's reputation with this flawed product. |
