Gamemaster 200160111 Louisville Ultimate Pitching Machine (EA)
The UPM is sturdy, portable, and requires no electricity. |
The Louisville Slugger UPM45 is the ultimate training aid that pitches reliably and consistently for batter after batter allowing the hitter to concentrate on developing a proper level swing path to the ball. The UPM45 is more than just a pitching machine, though--it also throws accurate fly-balls and hard ground balls consistently to incorporate into your drills and eliminate the need for hitting the ball during drills.
The Louisville Slugger UPM 45 Blue Flame Pitching Machine throws real baseballs and softballs between 18 and 45 miles per hour and soft, lightweight balls up to 60 miles per hour. This machine has been authorized for use by teams in the majority of youth leagues in America including Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball, the Cal Ripken Division of Babe Ruth Baseball,
The UPM allows hitters to work on specific locations and sharpen muscle memory without turning the coach's arm to jelly. |
For coaches and team managers, the UPM solves any number of problems. There's no need to use special pitching machine balls - it won't rip or tear leather or synthetic ball covers.

I looked at many machines in various price ranges. It was funny, because a sales person at a sporting goods store knew very little about the display model and said he has never seen anyone buy one before. Obviously, he too was skeptical of this product. After a little research, the things I liked about this was it requires no electricity (try finding a power outlet at the local ball field), it's compact and simple to use. The other thing I like about it, is that it throws every kind of ball. Regular baseballs and softballs, wiffle balls and batting practice softer balls. I haven't tried a football yet, but one is pictured on the box. Anyway, when I took it out of the box and assembled it and threw the first pitch, I was amazed at the kind of pop that the ball had. I set it up about 35 ft. from my daughter and it... I don't see it breaking easily. It is a bit pricey considering it is manually operated. However, once I got through a batting session with my son, I felt it was well worth it. The adjustment system is intuitive. It allows you to set pitches from 20 MPH to 45 MPH while being able to adjust the height of the pitch at each speed. The pitches are accurate within a few inches of each other once you get your settings locked in. As the settings are all held in place by bolts/pins, you don't have to do any major recalibration between sessions. I'd recommend it to any mom/dad who is tired of trying to lob strikes to their beginning hitter's already small strike zone. 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful A Kid's Review This machine is great, espically for pitching. The throws are not always accurate, so you can get used to how a real pitcher would pitch, with not all the same throws. I would strongly suggest buying this item for a kid to practice! It has many different heights and speeds |
