2 stars is too many, but 1 seems a little harsh. I bought these because I have been a Mizuno baseball equipment convert for a few years. I even had a pair of the original (Techfire?) Rickey Henderson gloves back in high school (circa 1990 - the ones with the padded fingers!). I love Mizuno shoes (9-spike, lightweight) and socks and warmups.

I really liked the design of these batting gloves but once I started using them in the batting cage, I found out they pretty much suck. They were stiff and the palm has no grip at all. The bat feels like it will fly free on every swing (I use both wood w/athletic tape & pine tar on handle and aluminum with leather wrap). The stitching in the thumb, where it meets the palm, is a little bulky and uncomfortable also. I keep these in my bag for an emergency. They might be ok as base running gloves, but I don't really steal bases any more. I cannot comment on their longevity as they will never get enough use to wear them out... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Mizuno Big Let Down, March 29, 2011

I bought these for my son who found them online and loved the color and design. He wore them for less than two weeks and they have torn and are unwearable. Someone had told me that they would tear and I didn't really belive them. I thought maybe they just didn't take of them. No, two weeks, and they are gone. Waste of money.
