After reading other reviews I was iffy in its function. Simply place this on a plastic lid, in a ceral bowl, or a plastic folder. Never had an issue with it ( no metal contact). I do not use the "remember me" box when loggin in. Fast upload even from a netbook. Apple users rejoice, it works.Instructions that come with Flowlink, simply said, they killed a tree for naught. Put a sticker on it "see Polar website for use" and be done with it. How to use, since Polar is somewhat lacking in the information department: 1) Do not plug in to computer 2) Download websynch 2.0 (etc) from polar site. 3) Reboot computer 4) Plug Flowlink in to computer. 5) click program if it did not start (icon will be a red heart, turns green when heart rate monitor is placed (and working) on it) * The instructions on the webiste will have you clicking links, leaving you with a "WTF, I just want to make this work... I received the Flowlink as a (requested) Christmas present. I did not read any of the Amazon reviews before deciding I needed this to compliment my Polar FT7. I cut open the package, signed into Polar Personal Trainer - to which I had previously been uploading training sessions manually. After a quick look around the website, I downloaded the software through Google Chrome to a Hackintosh running OSx 10.6, Snow Leopard. The cord on the unit is really short so, not reading anything about metal surfaces, or no metal surfaces, I left it sitting on my metal computer case. I put the FT7 on top of it, aligned as perfectly with the unit as possible due to my burgeoning OCD, and within moments it uploaded all of my training sessions since I purchased the HRM in April.It was seamless and painless, and I'm really excited to add this piece of hardware to my list of essential training tools. I'll be keeping an eye on the unit in the future for synching or aligning problems but for... Hi, I don't know why some people are having such a hard time...but I plugged in the flowlink...downloaded the software with Safari and in less than two minutes it worked perfectly. It shows you all of your workouts, the length and even when you were in fat burning vs fitness mode. I used it with an FT7 I bought yesterday and it works like a charm. |
